Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) are a naturally occurring substance, named after the village of Epsom in England where this mineral was found in the spring water.
Magnesium is the 2nd most abundant element in human cells. Most of us are lacking in magnesium, and soaking in an Epsom salt bath is one of the easiest ways to get a magnesium boost!
You’ll find adding 1-2 cups of Epsom salts to a bath will increase your perspiration considerably. This assists in detoxification.
The Epsom Salt Industry Council reports the following benefits:
- Improves circulatory health
- Improves the body’s ability to utilize insulin
- Flushes toxins & heavy metals from the cells
- Improves nerve function
- Relieves stress
- Reduces inflammation to relieve pain & muscle cramps
- Eases migraine headaches
- Improves joint health
If you are pregnant, have eczema, abnormal blood pressure, or any other health concern, please check with your doctor before using Epsom salts.
